The Goods Mart — Buyer & Wholesale Manager - Emerging Brands
The Goods Mart is looking for a Buyer & Wholesale Manager,who's equal parts relationship builder and operator — someone who gets excited about emerging CPG and has the instincts to match great brands with the right audiences.
You'll own the buying and CPG brand relationships side of our business — discovering and onboarding emerging brands, nurturing those relationships, and getting their products in front of our retail customers and corporate clients through Curation by The Goods Mart. You'll work closely with our founder (who leads buying strategy), Operations Director, and Store Manager, handing off in-store execution so you can stay focused on what you do best: finding great brands and growing the business.

What success looks like
A great Buyer & Wholesale Manager at The Goods Mart:

Builds and owns relationships with emerging CPG brands from early conversations to long-term partnership

Maintains a sharp, high-performing assortment across retail and Curation by The Goods Mart

Onboards up to 10 new brands per month with speed and precision
-
Oversees corporate client accounts, ensuring their assortments stay fresh and relevant
-
Uses Shopify data to make smart buying decisions that improve margins and sell-through

Communicates clearly and proactively with brand partners, corporate clients, and the internal team

Partners with the Store Manager on in-store execution, reorders, and inventory ops
Responsibilities
Brand sourcing & relationships

Partner with the founder to discover and onboard new brands

Own brand relationships from onboarding through ongoing performance and growth

Manage brand and vendor lifecycle — account setup, product cataloging, performance tracking

Coordinate brand samples for in-store education and marketing

Curate assortments and execute purchasing for events and activations
Corporate clients & Curation by The Goods Mart

Oversee corporate client accounts — hotels, cafes, co-working spaces, and office pantries

Build and maintain client-specific ordering portals with curated assortments

Maintain and update the Curation product catalog

Be the primary point of contact for corporate client relationships
Buying & merchandising

Manage the monthly purchasing budget

Maintain pricing strategy aligned to velocity and margin targets

Optimize the product mix for margin, sell-through, and brand story

Partner with the Store Manager on reorders, inventory levels, and in-store execution
Analytics & performance

Maintain reporting dashboards and a regular performance review cadence

Analyze top sellers, YoY trends, category velocity, and new product performance

Use data to drive buying, pricing, and placement decisions

Share performance insights with brand partners and internal leadership
Planning & collaboration

Collaborate with the founder and Operations Director on seasonal and strategic planning

Partner with the Store Manager on in-store product placement and brand education
Compensation $75,000–$85,000 annually, based on experience
Requirements
-
3–4 years in buying, merchandising, or brand partnerships — food/CPG preferred

Strong relationship and communication skills

Intermediate Excel skills
-
Able to lift 25 lbs, climb stairs/ladders, and work on your feet for occasional inventory activities
